IT company spreads some early festive cheer
Children under the care of local community welfare organisation, MaAfrica Tikkun, Western Cape, recently received an unexpected, but very welcome, festive surprise in the form of toys from Integr8 IT.
‘Tikkun’ is a Hebrew word meaning ‘to make right’ or ‘repair’ and this represents the ethos that drives MaAfrika Tikkun, established in 1994 as national and international fund raising organisation to help under resourced South Africans
The organisation has offices in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and Cape Town in the Western Cape, with international representation in London, New York and Sydney.
Organisers remain primarily focused on addressing the many health and socio-economic challenges directly related to HIV/Aids. Ongoing local projects include care for orphans and the elderly, feeding schemes and disaster emergency relief.
Integr8 IT, South Africa’s largest privately owned national BEE ICT network integration and infrastructure management specialist, is an established entity within the local ICT sector and continues to place a premium on the significance of corporate social investment.
“The company is involved in a number of initiatives that are designed to empower people, using technology as an enabler in communities. “We rely quite extensively on donations from the corporate sector. This support is imperative to our efforts to sustain the many projects we currently run and also ensure that we are able to maintain our core responsibility of direct assistance to those affected by the HIV/Aids pandemic,” says Zar.
